What We Do

C.A.R.E. Programs are part of a community building platform that allows students and families to engage in hands-on, minds-on challenges together.

We offer enrichment experiences that teach people to build their cognitive portfolios. We use game-based learning to strengthen critical, creative, strategic, and computational thinking skills.  People grow their cognitive portfolios when they work together to solve complex problems, especially when they build upon prior knowledge and practice new and existing thinking skills in the process.

If we make the process of learning and solving problems fun, introducing the tools needed to complete projects becomes a simple task. When we use only try to use a tool-based approach, learning feels forced and out of context for people.

Our Vision

We are putting learners of all ages in the cockpit. There are far too many programs and learning systems in the digital age where people, especially kids,  are in autopilot mode.  This means they are not actively engaged and not actively learning.

Our vision is to create a vast localized web of mentors, makers, thinkers, solvers, learners and supporters working towards a common goal. That goal is to provide support and services to benefit our youth! Escape the Classroom is one of many programs designed with this goal in mind.

The Gamemaster

Greetings problem solvers! I am the Gamemaster, but my friends call me the G, or the GM.  I've tasked myself with overseeing the distribution of a lost treasure in NYC. You see, a map which was created by the Pirate of Pearl Street was discovered by the last high constable during a raid in the 1800s.  The treasure was to be found and donated to The Orphan Asylum Society, but it was never found. Well, it was never found at that time! When the map came to be in my possession by way of a living relative of a previous owner, I decided to take on the case.  It wasn't easy but I did find the treasure and I now have it stored somewhere in one of my caches in one of the boroughs of NYC.  Those who decide to take part in the hunt will have the opportunity to find the treasure.  The team that finds it, will do with it what they choose!

While you are on your quest, I will be busy filling some very important positions for my think tank.  Perhaps you'd like to apply! Well, good luck to you, and remember, the journey is the reward!

A Word From The Keymaker

We do only what we are meant to do. Sometimes treasures need not only be found, but unlocked. The source cannot be accessed if you don't have the correct key.  The key to success is teamwork. Is water the key to life? At The Zoo was originally published in the key of Bb major.
